As readers we tend to have favorite books, even though it may be hard to limit favorites to 5 or 10 (or 100), we definitely have books that we love more than others. We also tend to have favorite authors. Whether they’ve published 10 books or even just one, we know that these are authors we’ll read pretty much whatever they write. I have quite a few authors that I enjoy reading, and I want to share a list of authors where I don’t even have to read the synopsis to know I’m going to buy their books. So without further ado, here are my nine autobuy authors:

Taylor Jenkins Reid – She’s written five novels and I’ve devoured and fallen in love with ALL OF THEM. At this point I know I’ll read anything she publishes, no matter what it’s about.

Tessa Dare – I recently started reading historical romances, and Tessa Dare is my favorite author of the genre! I’ve read most of her books so far, and has a new one coming out later this year, which I ~ cannot wait ~ to buy! Her novels are so funny and swoon worthy, and the female characters are always so headstrong and determined, which I LOVE.

Sally Thorne – So far Sally Thorne only has only published The Hating Game (and by this point everyone here knows how much I love that novel). Her writing style is perfect and her characters are so quirky, that I can’t wait to see what she writes next! I know her newest book will be out sometime next year, and I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON IT.

Morgan Matson – Matson writes THE BEST YA contemporary. I love all her books so much. They’re perfect to read during the summer time, and the characters are always flawed and relatable. I know I can’t go wrong picking up one of her books. I can’t wait to read her newest one Save the Date, which comes out this summer (and which I’m getting a copy of soon for a blog tour!!!!!).

Sabaa Tahir – She’s currently writing the An Ember in the Ashes series, which is AMAZING. So far there’s two (I think) more books left in the series, which I’m for sure going to read. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, and whatever else she publishes in the future!

Christina Lauren – Omg, I recently started reading Christina Lauren and I can’t believe it took me so long to start. This duo writes such great romance (and Autoboyography is one of the best books EVER) so I know I’m going to read whatever they write.

Jenn Bennett – Another contemporary YA author I love so much. Her books are so cute and fluffy and her teenagers are realistic. I love her stories so much, Alex Approximately was one of my top faves last year, and Starry Eyes is one of my faves for 2018 already, so I know I’ll read and love whatever she publishes next!

Jasmine Guillory – Another author who only has one book published so far, but I already know that I will read whatever she publishes next. I enjoyed The Wedding Date so much, and I can’t wait to read her next novel about one of the side characters from this one! I want to reread The Wedding Date like now, but I have so many other books on my tbr rn that I’m making myself wait a little bit.

Helen Hoang – Ahhh! Helen Hoang’s book comes out next month, and I’ve already read it once and planning a reread soon. I loved this book SO, SO MUCH. The characters are amazing, the writing is amazing, EVERYTHING is amazing! The Kiss Quotient has already made it onto my favorite books of 2018, and possibly one of my favorites of all time, and I won’t stop talking about it for the next few months. I can’t wait to read everything she writes in the future, which I KNOW will be great!

  1. I loved The Hating Game!! I’m definitely excited to read Thorne’s book next year. I’ve had my eyes on a few books by Taylor Jenkins Reid, One True Loves being the main one. I’ve also been eyeballing The Wedding Date for some time now. I’m hoping to get my hands on both books pretty soon because I keep seeing them everywhere, and I’m taking it as a sign haha. I just read about The Kiss Quotient today, and can’t wait until it’s released so I can purchase it 🙂

My autobuy authors are Karina Halle and A.R. Torre.

    • Yass, read them! Take this as another sign 😂, they’re so good. I’ve wanted to read A.R. Torre, but my library doesn’t have any of the books and my B&N doesn’t either! I hop you enjoy reading The Kiss Quotient soon!

    • Awesome, we have some of the same autobuy authors! I LOVE Rainbow Rowell too, and I reread Fangirl all the time! I want to read Tana French so badly, but her books are always on hold at the library *cry*.

  2. We share a few autobuy authors! Jenn Bennett and Morgan Matson are two of my FAVORITE YA contemporary authors, and I will forever buy everything they write. And even though I never buy TJR’s books, I do always read her new releases from my library. Helen Hoang is absolutely a new favorite after reading (and loving) TKQ, and I can’t wait to read whatever she publishes next.

    • Yay! I can’t wait to get Morgan Matson’s new one because it sounds so, so good! I’m so glad I read TKQ and it lived up to the hype, and I can’t wait to read her next book, I’ve already read the synopsis many times lol.

  3. I have a couple of auto-buys authors (Lily Anderson, Anna-Marie McLemore). It’s weird because I actually think the more I read, the less auto-buy authors I have. I must read more Morgan Matson. Her summer release is very tempting.

    • I’ve wanted to read Anna-Marie McLemore because I’ve heard so many good things about her, and I really liked her short story in an anthology I read a couple months ago. Matson’s new book sounds SO GOOD, and her covers are always so beautiful (which makes me want her books even more lol).

  4. We don’t share any Auto-Buy Authors sadly, but I have met a couple of yours at book signings – Tessa Dare and the duo Christina Lauren. My top Auto-Buy Authors include 3 hybrid publishing authors Mia Sheridan, Helena Hunting, Jennifer L. Armentrout and indie author Hilaria Alexander. I have a lot more that I usually end up reading almost everything they write like Sawyer Bennett and J.R. Ward, but I don’t always have the funds to buy their new releases. For those, I tend to utilize my 2 public library systems to read their latest and then I collect a copy in either e-book and/or audiobook formats when those formats go on sale. =)
