It’s been a while since I participated in any readathons, so I’m excited to share than this month I’m planning on participating in two! I’m not sure how this is going to go since they’re both very different and none of the books I read will fit both readathons, but oh well, I’m excited and hoping to get a few books off my unread TBR.
The first readathon I’m participating in is Tome Topple. I’ve joined a few rounds of this in the past, but didn’t participate in the most recent round because I didn’t have time. I’m super excited about this readathon because I have so many huge books on my shelf, that I can’t wait to finally pick up!
To those who are wondering, Tome Topple is a readathon aimed at reading books over 500 pages. The Tome Topple goodreads page says:
The whole point of this readathon is to read big books (over 500 pages). You don’t even need to read a lot of them. You don’t even need to finish one. The point is that we are all reading those big daunting books at the same time and supporting each other.
The 11th round of Tome Topple is starting soon, it runs from midnight on May 9 – May 22 at 11:59 pm. There are nine challenges you can participate in, and a book can only count for two challenges:
- A tome that has been on your TBR the longest.
- A tome audiobook.
- A tome that’s part of a series.
- A standalone tome.
- Read 1 tome.
- A tome featuring an AAPI character or written by an AAPI author.
- A tome from a genre you don’t usually read.
- A tome with the most pages.
- An adult tome.
This isn’t a set in stone TBR and I’m not planning on reading all these, but I like giving myself options and these books are at the top of my list.
The Book of the Month Readathon runs May 14 – May 17 and is hosted by @kelseylovesbooks on Instagram, and is pretty self explanatory. The goal for this readathon is to read your unread Book of the Month selections. I don’t know about you, but I keep choosing BOTMs and then letting them sit on my shelf a long time before ever picking them up. I’m hoping that this readathon will help me finally get some of those unread picks off my shelf.
Again, this TBR isn’t set in stone, these are just the BOTM options I can choose from.
