Taking a look back at what happened in the month of June.

Victoria’s Life Happenings

Wow, June was a crazy busy month for me! I was in the middle of practicum, which took up a lot of time but was so rewarding. I learned so much, but man was it exhausting! I had two sites, a detention center, and a methadone clinic. Both were populations I didn’t know too much about, but I learned so much and definitely want to continue working with these populations.  I planned so many blog posts this month, but by the time I got home at the end of the day all I wanted to do was sleep. Luckily, practicum ended at the end of this month, and I’ll have all of July and part of August to recharge and get posts written and scheduled. My birthday was also this month, and my boyfriend was able to come down for the weekend and celebrate with me and some friends!

Victoria’s Fave Book

I read a ton of great books recently, but wow Sarah Maclean’s new book in the Bareknuckle Bastards series was definitely my favorite of the month. I loved the first book in the series, and was so excited to get an early copy of this book because it follows Beast. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about this book! Definitely check it out when it comes out next month!

  1. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! And congrats on finishing your practicum and gaining some much deserved free time for July and August!

I crazy LOVED Helena Hunting’s I Flipping Love You. I’m a huge HGTV fan, so I loved that she decided to write a romance in the real estate and flipping homes world.

Happy summer blogging and reading! =)

    • Thank you! I really enjoyed I Flipping Love You as well as the rest of the series, she’s quickly becoming an autobuy author for me! Happy July!

  2. I felt very similarly to Fix Her Up! I sped through it so quickly, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed myself. I haven’t read anything by Sarah MacLean; it looks like I need to change that! Thanks for the rec. 🙂

Happy belated birthday! I hope July and August are a bit less hectic for you. 🙂

  3. Your field work sounds intense. I hope it’s a great experience for you. Ayesha and Fix Her Up were both winners for me too. I definitely want to read more from both authors. I can’t believe you DNFed a Grey book. What’s going on there. I usually love her books.

    • It was super time consuming and exhausting, but so worth it and I enjoyed it so much. I’m surprised about Grey’s book too! I usually enjoy her stuff, but I just couldn’t with this one. I love hate to love, but the hero in this one was just too mean to be redeemable for me.
