I’m back with another library haul. This one isn’t too big, which is good because I’ve been pretty slow with reading these last few weeks since the semester started and I don’t have a lot of free time.
When They Call You a Terrorist – I’ve been really into reading nonfiction lately, I picked up this book because I’ve heard great things about it. I’m currently halfway through and really enjoying it! It’s beautifully written, and also a very necessary book.
Catch and Kill – I’m in a true crime book club on Insta, and our current read is Catch and Kill. I finished this at the beginning of the week and really enjoyed reading. I was livid and surprised most of the time, because I cannot believe how convoluted the whole Harvey Weinstein thing was. I was also so upset at how many people turned away from the situation and just wanted to ignore it.
Lost Children Archive – I read Valeria Luiselli’s book Tell Me How It Ends at the end of 2019 and really, really enjoyed it. I wanted to read more of Luiselli’s work, but hadn’t picked anything up since then. After all the pushback on American Dirt, I decided I wanted to read Luiselli’s book now.
Landwhale – I follow quite a few therapists on Instagram that discuss intuitive eating and diet culture. Recently one shared a list of books on intuitive eating and anti-diet culture, and Landwhale was on the list. After seeing which books my library had, I picked this one up. I’m a little more than halfway through and am really, really loving it.
Kissing Galileo – I’ve already read and returned this ebook, but it’s a hold that came in since my last library haul. I love Penny Reid, and I love that I can easily access her books from my library.
The Wives – There’s so much hype surrounding this book, that I want to pick it up. It’s been on my kindle for a hot minute so I need to pick it up soon because the holds list is ridiciulously long and I don’t want to have to wait a few months to try and pick it up again.
Suddenly You – I’ve seen this book ALL over Bookstagram lately. After reading positive review after positive review, I decided to check it out from the library.
Ordinary Girls – I’ve had this book on hold for a while, and it FINALLY came in. I’m definitely hoping to get to this one soon.
What do you currently have checked out from the library?
