LIBRARY HAUL | 2

I’m back with another library haul! Ever since I started working at a library a year ago, I’ve been going crazy checking books out and adding them to my want to read list. Here’s my most recent list of checkouts (I still have some from my last post though…oops). Let me know which ones you’ve read and recommend!

PHYSICAL

A Duke By Default – I picked this one up so I can finally finish the series! I read the first book when it came out last year, read the novella last month, and have an eARC of the next book in the series, and can’t wait to continue reading. I love Alyssa Cole’s writing, and can’t wait to read more from her.

Columbine – My friend and I are participating in Jenna, Stop Reading! book club, and this is one of the books for that. I know this book technically isn’t the read for another few months, but I really want to read it now lol.

Dopesick – I’ve seen this around recently, and picked it up on a whim. I’m super excited to get to it and hope I get to it soon.

Hallucinations – I was browsing the shelves (SO dangerous), and saw this book. I read an Oliver Sacks books for class a few years ago and decided that I want to read more from him.

Maid – I saw this book everywhere and knew it would be a great read. I finished this in two days and gave it five stars. This is a book I think everyone should read. Stephanie Land discusses her experience with poverty and welfare, which there are many misconceptions about.

Member of the Family – Another book I picked up because I was browsing. If you can’t tell I’m kind of in the mood for murdery books lol.

Ruin and Rising – I really want to read Six of Crows, but feel like I need to read The Grisha trilogy first. So far I haven’t been a huge fan of the first two books in the series, but I’m going to continue on because I’ve heard so many good things about Six of Crows.

Sourdough – I loved Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore, and can’t wait to read more from this author! I’ve also heard really good things about this book, and am super excited to read it.

The Haunting of Hill House – I’ve wanted to read this for so long, and my library finally bought a new copy after the last one was lost. This is a short book, so I think I’ll get to it and through it super quickly.

EBOOKS

The Vanishing Throne – I sped through The Falconer a couple weeks ago and immediately put a hold on the second book of the series. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens since the first book ended on a cliffhanger.

AUDIOBOOKS

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle – I have an eARC of this that I still haven’t read yet (oops), so I checked out the audiobook to listen to since I’m going on a long drive soon.

Which of these should I pick up first?

    • I didn’t even know there’s going to be another novella, that’s so exciting! Yes, I love that her novellas are so fleshed out and pack so much into them.

  1. I have Columbine on my wishlist for so long I need to request that from my local bookstore one of these days. I got more interested to read it when I found out that he recently released another book, Parkland. Also, I recently bought Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and I’m really hoping to read it by March 🙂

    Have a great week, Victoria!

    • I’ve been wary about reading it just because I know it’ll be so heartbreaking and heavy, but I think if I pace myself and only read a little bit at a time it’ll be okay. I hope to hear what you think of it when you get to it!
