Library Haul | 8

I’m back with another library haul! This one is going to be a little bit ridiculous because I checked out SO MANY books these last two weeks! I know I don’t have as much free time as I would like to, but because I work at the library and don’t have late fines, I don’t feel too bad checking books out and keeping them a little longer lol. Anyways, here’s my haul!

PHYSICAL

Dreams From the Monster Factory – I picked up this nonfiction because it’s about the prison system, which is something I’m interested in learning more about. This seems like a pretty short book to get through, so fingers crossed I’ll reach for it soon.

From the Corner of the Oval – I’ve heard so many good things about this memoir, that I had to check out this book from the library. This one is pretty far up on my tbr because it’s one I’m pretty sure I can get through super quickly.

How Long ‘Til Black Future Month – I’ve read N.K. Jemisin before and really loved the book, so I had to check out this short story collection by her. I think I’ll try and read a story a day from this, that way I’m not too overwhelmed with all the books on my TBR.

Shadowshaper – This novel has been on my radar for a while, but I hadn’t picked it up for some reason or other. When I realized that it’s Latinx Heritage Month, I knew I had a great reason to pick this book up! I’m so excited to finally start this YA series!

The Line Becomes a River – I saw this book when someone came to drop it back off at the library, and immediately checked it out to myself. It’s a nonfiction about the border, and I’m hoping to get to this one pretty quickly.

The Scarpetta Collection vol 1 – One of my best friends is obsessed with this series, and has been harassing me to pick it up for some time now. I had to pick up a collection of the first two books because none of the libraries have a copy of just the first book!

Trick Mirror – this book has been receiving a lot of hype on bookstagram, so of course I had to check it out. I actually already started this one, and ended up DNFing it because it just wasn’t my jam.

Una Casa Propia – Another book that’s been on my radar for a while, but hadn’t picked up for whatever reason until Latinx Heritage Month. I’m really excited to get to this book soon!

AUDIOBOOK

Killers of the Flower Moon – I own a physical copy of this book, and am participating in a buddy read for this book this month. I’m really enjoying it, and decided to check out the audiobook so I could switch between the two and get this done in time.

What book should I prioritize from this haul?

    • I’m also not a huge fan of short story collections, but I’m really enjoying her Broken Earth trilogy so I decided to give the collection a try!
