Industrious high school senior, Vee Delmonico, has had it with living life on the sidelines. When pressured by friends to join the popular online game Nerve, Vee decides to sign up for just one dare in what seems like harmless fun.

But as she finds herself caught up in the thrill of the adrenaline-fueled competition partnered with a mysterious stranger, the game begins to take a sinister turn with increasingly dangerous acts, leading her into a high stakes finale that will determine her entire future.

I’ve never read the book so this review is solely based on the movie.

Let’s face it. I love the thrill, I love a little scare in my life. I mean, you saw my weekly rewind where I talked about possibly dying at the bridge I was at, then you know just how much I love a good thrill. But I’m too much of a wuss for these dares! I’d be a Watcher! Although, if I had a Dave Franco with me, I may choose Player 😉 Watchers are the ones that pay to watch the dares. That money is given to the Player that completes the dare. If you choose Player, you’ll be super rich if you survive the dares and win the ultimate round.

Nerve is an exhilarating and thrilling movie! When the movie started and the first dare was to just kiss a stranger, my first thought was, “Oh, it’s that kind of movie with stupid dares. This will be boring.” Ha! Little did I know that the stakes were going to raise high.

If put in their position, I’d probably think through everything more than 20 times to know if I should risk my life for money. Granted, it’s A LOT OF MONEY! It’s in the K’s, okay? That much money for just one dare. So imagine doing all of those dares. You’ll probably have a million!

I would love to talk about the dares but I don’t want to spoil them for you. You have to see the dares without knowing anything about them so you can feel that thrill flowing inside you and maybe a little scare, too. I will never forget those dares because wow! Super intense stuff!

Take the quiz and find out what you are!

Talina from Sassy and Dangerous helped me with the quiz! She came up with the majority of the questions and answers.

WOULD YOU PICK TO BE A WATCHER OR A PLAYER? WHAT WERE YOUR QUIZ RESULTS?

  1. I REALLY want to see this! I had no idea it was even a “thing” until Cait posted a review of the book and said it was going to be a movie- so I looked up the trailer, but was really hoping for someone to tell me if it was decent, and here you are, doing just that! So now, I shall make my mother accompany me to see it this weekend 😉 I got Watcher on the quiz, and that is 100% accurate bwhahah. I would have been ugly crying in the corner before anyone could even tell me the first dare! So glad you liked this, great review!

  2. Thanks for the review. I was on the fence about seeing this since I wanted to but didn’t want to be disappointed. I’m definitely going to see this now. 🙂

I saw the preview for this movie and it looks pretty cool! I took the quiz and I was a watcher… not surprised by that at all LOL 😀

DAVE FRANCO IS SO FINE! He is the main reason I want to watch this movie. It also sounds really freakin’ good. I very surprisingly got PLAYER…say whaaaa….? I did not expect that to come up for me at all.

  5. I haven’t read this book yet, but it’s short, so I’m hoping that I can borrow it from the library and read it before the movie is out of the theaters. It looks like it’s going to be pretty good. 🙂

I’m glad that you liked it. I’m always up for action-packed movies, so I’m sure that I’ll be adding this to my Netflix queue in the future, too.
