Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we get to make bookish lists!!

This week’s topic: All About Audio freebie

Audio Recs

unbreak my heart audio cover archers-voice-audio symptoms of being human wallbanger audio you audio

  • Unbreak My Heart broke my heart in such a beautiful way! The narrators were fantastic.
  • Archer’s Voice was another bitter-sweet story that I loved and the narrators did a great job in portraying the characters, especially Archer.
  • Symptoms of Being Human had a unique voice when it came to Riley and the narrator was THE perfect voice for Riley.
  • Wallbanger was freaking hilarious on audio. I laughed out loud so many times!
  • YOU was beyond creepy and Santino Fontana IS Joe’s voice, hands down. I cannot picture anyone else giving Joe a voice.

Audios I Want to Listen

  • I can’t remember who rec’d me Of Beast and Beauty but I’ve been dying to listen to it.
  • I have Furious Rush‘s audio to review and I’m so excited for it!
  • My boyfriend has told me to listen to Ready Player One. I listened to the first few chapters, and it’s actually good! I need to continue, though.
  • Nereyda from Nick & Nereyda’s Infinite Booklist rec’d me Illuminae and Ugly Love! I’ve only read Ugly Love out of the two (and loved it) so I’ve been meaning to listen to it. (You should totally read Nereyda’s audio review on Illuminae here.)

BONUS SOUNDTRACK REC

Hamilton soundtrack

I lately love HAMILTON! I was one of those that said I would never listen HAMILTON because I was sure it was a waste of time. HA! It’s actually the best thing ever. I’ve only listened to this album since April. I listen to it everyday and it’s the only thing I listen to. Some say they’re not into Rap music. Guess what? This album isn’t all Rap music. There are also mellow songs, songs that will put you to dance, songs that will make you cry, songs for everything! You can listen to this on Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, or this playlist on YouTube 🙂

That’s it from me! Now, it’s your turn to give me your rec’s!

  1. Hah, I put off listening to Hamilton for a long time as well and now I’m obsessed 🙂 I listen to it almost every day now too 😉
Also, I don’t listen to audiobooks really, but I’d love to give them a try. You has been on my TBR for a while so I’ll have to check that out!

  2. I’d definitely recommend reading Ready Player One, it’s awesome.
I love the Hamilton soundtrack too, I had it on loop for a few weeks. It’s not a period of history I’m very familiar with but it’s so accessible and interesting I’d love to read a book about Eliza and Angelica.

Bookmarking this since I haven’t heard any of these and I really want to branch out in audiobooks. I have not had a lot of success yet because I haven’t found good narrators so I’m excited to try some of these!

    • I hope you like them! What I do is that I search for the sample on Audible. If in that sample, my mind stays focused on the narration and I like the narrator, chances are I will love the audiobook. I actually did this with Wallbanger. I put the sample and got so hooked that I had to start the audio right then.

I’d be interested to hear what you think of Illuminae as an audiobook! I had an ARC of it that I DNF’d (despite giving it a few tries) and was really bummed about. Everyone raved about it for so long that I thought I would love it! I think part of it was how it was written (although unique). I might see if the audiobook works better!

  5. I listened to Ugly Love but I’m not really a Hoover fan so that wasn’t a good one for me… I do want to listen to You because I’ve heard great things about the book!

    Here are my Top Ten!

  6. Okay I LOVE that we both ended our lists that otherwise had NOTHING to do with Hamilton with Hamilton! Great minds clearly do think alike 😉 I have also heard great things about Illuminae’s audiobook, which surprised me, because I didn’t think that the formatting would work well in audio, but looks like I was wrong hahah. Great picks! I hope you enjoy the ones you want to listen to, too!

  7. Love seeing your picks, Gen! I plan on reading Archer’s Voice but I may listen to the audio version at some point after I’ve read it. Lately I’ve been listening to some CoHo books on audio and it’s been fun to compare them to my experience with reading the physical books. This week I’ve been listening to November 9 and loving it! The narrator for Ben is especially good.

  8. Hamilton!! I just read the book while listening to the soundtrack and it was amazing. I love Wallbanger, I can only imagine how funny it would be to listen to it. Will have to check some of these out, now that I have more commuting to do! Great recs!
