Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.

At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.

Showing up to her brother’s wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar, until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offer―a wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.

Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.

Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That’s all it was… right?

Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can’t stop thinking about.

Not with him sleeping down the hall…

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I think everyone who’s read the Alabama Summer series has been waiting for CJ Tully’s story. I know I have! And CJ is ever the dream guy 😍

After Riley had a major fight with her boyfriend, Richard, she packed her bags and went to her brother’s wedding, Reed (his story is in When I Fall). At the festivities, Riley is paired up with CJ, someone she wasn’t counting on having an attraction to since she has seen him from afar and he had once collided with her. But seeing him again is giving her all kinds of feelings. Something happened between Riley and CJ at the wedding, and then a certain realization when Riley gets home, that leads these two to the friend zone. They also end up as roommates!! CJ was in a fight that got him on leave from work for a few months. Riley is a nurse so CJ asked her if she could move in and help him around the house.

My breath catches the tiniest bit as I instantly recognize CJ Tully, another member of the Ruxton Police Department. We’ve never met. Not officially, anyway.

I consider CJ to be the most mature one of the group. I don’t know if it’s because of his age—he’s in his 30s—or simply how he sees life and approaches every situation. CJ is just as hot as the other guys in the series! What had me liking him so much was how sweet he is. And I have to say, I love his name! (You have to read to find out 😉) Riley was a great character! I did get slightly annoyed with her sometimes, but she was still great. She’s fun, random and just as caring as CJ. Gosh, their romance was so hot! *fans face* I totally ship them.

I really liked this book!! It was full of steamy moments, caring moments, romantic moments, laughter, and more! Not only that, but the whole gang is back, even Sir Nolan, so it was great to read about my favorite characters. While this isn’t my favorite in the series, it’s still a great read! And it can be read as a standalone 🙂
