Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we get to make bookish lists!!

This week’s topic: 2016 Releases I Meant to Read but Didn’t get to (but TOTALLY plan to)

Listen y’all, I am going to be totally honest with you… I completely regret my decision to take part in this week’s TTT topic! Allow me to explain –

  1. My TBR is over 400 books long, how on earth is that coming down to ten?!
  2. I have no idea which books were actually released in 2016, and which books I happen to just discover in 2016!
  3. The combination of one and two makes actually staying on topic this week super difficult!

SO! You are probably now asking yourself why the heck I have written anything, that you have now had to read’ if I do not plan to actually have a Top Ten Tuesday list, right??? WRONG!

I am about to give you my list; BUT I want you to know now that I am aware some or none or all of these books may or may-not actually have been published in 2016! So really, in this case, this list is actually:

Top Ten 2016 Book Purchases I Meant to Read but Didn’t Get to
(but TOTALLY plan to!)

And this *points at photo collage* is one of my shelves, topped by my HP swag, my piles of books pre-alphabetization, and my December TBR.

TBH, of the books you can see, other than HP, I have read the Sookie Stackhouse series, and the bottom three Dean Koontz. That’s it.

Amanda’s Picks

  1. The Blood of Gods and Royals series by Eleanor Herman
  2. The Wrath and the Dawn series by Renee Ahdieh
  3. Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  4. The Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown
  5. A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
  6. The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
(also, I need to finish The Mime Order… Shhh)
  7. The Field Party series by Abbi Glines
  8. The Firebird series by Claudia Gray
  9. Lauren Graham’s autobiography (!!!!)
  10. The Queen of the Tearling series by Erika Johansen

  1. so you know, I’ll just be here pressuring you to read The Red Rising Trilogy ’cause it’s my MOST FAVE SERIES (at the moment)…. just kidding (or am I?… lol).
I also have Six of Crows and The Queen of Tearling on my tbr. I read book 1 of the Firebird trilogy in 2015 (I think) and didn’t like it as much as everyone else. The romance felt too much for me… Hope you get around these books this 2017. Good luck with them, Amanda! 😀 (also, don’t forget to read the Red Rising trilogy… no pressure. really.)

Oh my gosh – please do pressure me! Lol. I usually pick my next book off my TBR passed on read alongs, challenges, or the insistence of others! LOL
Come read Six of Crows with my read along in March!!! We are doing SoC in March, and Crooked Kingdom in April – There’s a post about it 😉

Crooked Kingdom is our April read along book!!! Come read with us over on instagram!! I will be co-hosting that one with @randralong, and SoC the months before with @bookslovetea

Lol. You don’t suck!! My TBR is over 400 books long!! That I own!! It is the greatest problem EVER! Hehehe

Just trying to narrow it down to this cheat ten was so hard!!! This post may have been harder to write than any of my reviews have ever been! Lol

Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom will be read in March and April!!! Without read alongs I would never get anything off my list! LOL
I hope to read A Study in Charlotte and the next book in that series with a blog tour that is coming up! Fingers crossed!

I’m almost done Lauren Graham’s book! I HIGHLY suggest that you get it on Audible! It is so, so good on there because she is the narrator!
