Weekly Latte Rewind ~ 3.25.17 | Watch + Baseball + Date

March 25, 2017 | Posted by Genesis in Stacking The Shelves, Weekly Latte Rewind | 30 Comments

Weekly Latte Rewind is a weekly feature where we will recap posts, books read, books we received and other bookish stuff. We’ve linked to Stacking the Shelves hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post hosted by  Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

  • My weekend was so good! I spent the day with my BF, and his brother and GF. They cooked lamb, zucchini, pasta, green beans and brownies, and everything was just so good! Then at night, my BF and I ate at Papa John’s and got frozen yogurt and watched Beauty and the Beast! On Sunday, my BF and I went out for ice cream and cinnamon melts at McDonald’s. Before we arrived, we saw two homeless men and my BF was like, “Hold on.” So I stopped in the middle of the street so he could go talk to them and give them some money. My heart melted <3

  • On Wednesday, there was the finals of the World Baseball Classic 2017: Puerto Rico vs United States. I ate 10 chicken wings! (Apparently, that’s a lot for one person like me to eat but I always said I loved food ahem.) Sadly, PR didn’t win and got Silver medal but we have celebrated as if they had. We welcomed our players with open arms, a parade, party, etc. And what did the US team get for winning Gold? …… Yeah, nothing. Sorry, US but PR always does it better 😉

Daniel Wellington wanted to collaborate again with me! They sent me a watch from their new line “Classic Petite”. I highly recommend this watch for people with a relatively small wrist since the dial is 32 mm. It looks so classy and elegant!

I don’t receive anything from when you use my discount. I only get the watch and that’s it.

I was beyond surprised to receive this unsolicited book mail from HMH! So happy I got it! | Berkley sent me a few ARCs so I could give away! | I also got The Animal Under the Fur, which has been so badass!

I can’t believe I actually got it!! I’m so excited for this book!!

Thanks to HMH Books for Young Readers, Berkley, E.J. Mellow and St. Martin Press!

gifted from my BF

Titles of the books in English: Patriarchs and Prophets | The Great Controversy | The Acts of the Apostles | The Desire of Ages | Prophets and Kings

My lovely BF has known for a while that I wanted a Bible. I have two Bibles in the English language but I wanted a Spanish one so he surprised me with one that I totally love! It has so many features inside! He also knows that I’ve been wanting to read the Ellen G. White books so he also got me some of them! If you want to know more about God and the truths of this world, I HIGHLY recommend reading EGW books. You can find them for free online or the app for your phone. Just search for EGW Writings 🙂

I believe I won this from Lisa’s Instagram. I wanted to buy it but forgot so when I won this, it was fate!

I really liked Appealed but the second book is still my fave. | Things I Should Have Known is a wonderful story about Autism, family, sisterhood and friends!

It’s so freaking badass and I’m loving it!

TWO winners will receive an ARC copy of GONE WITHOUT A TRACE! (US Only)

  • Wonderful week! I haven’t seen Beauty & the Beast, sadly. But it’s Spring beak next week so I might drag the fam for an afternoon out.

Congratulations to Puerto Rico! I just started watching baseball last year (MLB) so I’m pumped for the upcoming season. 😀

    Have a great week, Gen!

    • You should watch it!
PR didn’t win LOL We got Silver. The reason I wrote about it on here is because the USA team kept saying it didn’t sit well with them that we already had plans for a parade as if we were cocky we would win. When in reality, that’s just how we are. We are proud of our players and they deserve a parade, party, etc, so we gave them that.

  • Sounds like another great week! I am a beast with wings so I can eat a lot too 🙂 The Break Down is one I am interested in so can’t wait to see what you think. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  • Awww yay! Glad you had a great week Gen! 🙂

  • Sounds like you had a great week Gen! And your BF also sounds like a huge sweetheart, giving money to the homeless and also buying you the new books and bible you wanted. Great boyfriend award!! lol I haven’t gotten to see Beauty & the Beast yet. We want to find a babysitter so we can go soon, because I think it may be too scary for a 4 year old…but I dunno? lol

Hope you have a great week, and enjoy your new books!

    • I did! Haha he does deserve an award. Well, the movie is the same as the original so if she gets scared with the original, get a babysitter. If she can watch it and is okay, then go ahead 🙂 The movie theater was filled with little kids so who knows.

  • I feel like your posts always make me hungry. o_o Ten chicken wings sounds like a lot but hey, a girl’s gotta eat! Your bf is such a sweetie! That Bible is really pretty. =) I’m going to read Things I Should Have Known! It was sent unsolicited so I wasn’t planning on reading it, but right now I’m in a (rare) YA contemporary mood, so it’s happening. 😀

I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Have a fantastic weekend, Genesis. =)

    • Hahaha xD
Oh you should totally read it! It does have lots of topics being talked about but the major one is Autism and it was portrayed perfectly.

  • Great haul! I hope you enjoy all your new books. I like E.J. Mellow too.
    My STS

  • Your week sounds lovely, as does your book haul! Love your bookstagram as well!
    Here’s My STS

  • Sounds like you had a nice week. Nice bookstagram! Have a great week!

  • Your boyfriend is so thoughtful! Glad you had such a great week! Hopefully this week is just as awesome!

  • It sounds like you had a great week! Amazing haul too!! I haven’t heard of The Animal Under the Fur, but the cover is gorgeous and now I’m intrigued!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • I really did! And OMG you should get it! It’s like a…. Hmm.. I’m trying to figure out the genre. It’s not exactly contemporary but it’s not fantasy… It does have sci-fi aspects to it but it’s set in our present time. Kind of complicated but yeah it’s a great book!

  • Charlie Anderson

Another great week! I’m more of a tenders girl myself. 😉 Your boyfriend is incredibly sweet!

  • It sounds like you had a great week! I love all the fun food that you eat!!! It was such a good game between the US and PR. That is awesome that there was a parade after! Have a great week!

    • Haha I love food a lot LOL. I think it could have been better. There are rumors that there was some foul play involved before the game started and it was obvious because PR wasn’t playing like it had before so that sucks. But hey the parade for them was amazing!

  • It sounds like you had a wonderful week. I love the watch.I stop wearing them years ago, but love the simple look of it. Enjoy your new books and I hope the week ahead is wonderful.

    • For me it was the opposite. I used to not wear watches until I found Jord Wood Watches and Daniel wellington’s. I’m basically attached to DW’s watches LOL. Thank you!

  • The man who loves to help those in need and gift someone books especially a bible is amazing. You have the best boyfriend! 😉
Btw, I love the watch. It’s simple and elegant. My taste. I have a similar one in black. 😀
I hope you enjoy your books. Have a great week and happy reading! 😀

    • LOL I know!! <3
Right?! That's why I love DW watches. Later on, I plan to by the Glasgow strap, which is one I've been adoring since I first found these watches.
      Thank you! You too 🙂

  • Eva

Love that watch and looks like you had an amazing week between your haul and eats!
