GEN’S LIFE HAPPENINGS

  • I got back from camp on Monday and I’ve been exhausted since then. It wasn’t until Thursday that I felt like I was feeling more awake. I had so much fun though! I love going to it because I can forget my phone and just focus on my friends, boyfriend, food (yes, food) and the church activities, plus the banquet (Mexican theme this year), FADUmpiadas (olympics)… I’m telling you, it was a blast but so exhausting. It was worth my lack of sleep and pretty much being a zombie this week.
That’s why I haven’t visited blogs this week. The exhaustion is so bad that when I grab the laptop, I just watch Netflix and fall asleep.
  • I went to Starbucks with my best friend and also to the mall. I ordered the Hazelnut Latte and she got the White Frappuccino Mocha thing that’s sooooo good! I think I found a new favorite <3
  • I saw Allegiant with my boyfriend…….. That. Was. HORRIBLE!!!! Not even going to talk about it. It was that bad.

GEN’S HAUL

For Review

undecided the last good girl suffer love cover Never Stop Falling the loose ends list

I wasn’t going to read Undecided because that cover looks like a love-triangle thing so no no no. But Alyssa at Eater of Books reviewed it and said it wasn’t so now I’m eager to read this one. The Last Good Girl is inspire by real life stories and the description was enough for me to want to read it! I got Suffer Love for the blog tour! I’m excited to read this one. I also got Never Stop Falling for a blog tour and I already started reading it. So far, so good! And lastly, I got The Loose Ends List! This is one of my anticipated reads so I’m having my fingers-crossed, hoping it’s really good.

Audios For Review

the lifeboat clique

I haven’t heard/seen much of this one around but the synopsis kind of hooked me in so I was happy to have gotten approved for the audio.

Bought

lady midnight pushing the limits

Gaby had texted me a week or two prior to the release of Lady Midnight, letting me know that the bookstore had it for pre-order signed so of course, I pre-ordered two (one for me and one for my best friend). It is now in my hands! I still need to read CoHF though… I gave in and purchased Pushing the Limits. It was on sale! These deals will be the death of me. I hope to read this one soon 🙂

GEN’S WEEK IN READING

my kind of crazy addicted to you ricochet Never Stop Falling

My Kind of Crazy was a fun story with some serious issues going on but I ended up enjoying it. I’ll be reviewing this one this upcoming week. I re-read Addicted to You and Ricochet for the AtCSreadalong and THE FUDGING FEELS!!! I love these characters way too much. They are my babies. I enjoyed reading them the second time around for sure. I’ll be talking more about them on Monday 🙂 I’m currently reading Never Stop Falling and I’m really liking it. I hope it continues to be good 🙂

  1. I’m glad to hear that camping was fun! And LOL, Allegiant! I kinda expected it would be bad because that trailer made no sense and I thought the first 2 movies were pretty crappy.
Undecided was SO SO good! I can’t wait for you to read it! I loved it so much. I’m excited for The Loose Ends List too. I hope it’s good for the both of us.
    Happy reading, ladies!

    • Do not waste money on going to watch it. Huge disappointment!
I can’t wait to start it!! I’m so excited!
Hopefully we both like it 🙂

  2. Ahhh yes I’ve heard horrible things about Allegiant. xD I stopped watching after Divergent because it didn’t do anything for me and it seems to get worse every movie. :/ I have Suffer Love too but I wasn’t approved for The Loose Ends List *sadface*
I’m glad you ended up enjoying My Kind of Crazy! 😀 And thanks for linking back to my post, lovely. <3

    • Insurgent was bad as well. Idk why they ruin the movies this badly. I’m so excited for Suffer Love and The Loose Ends List!
      I really liked it 🙂
      No problem hun!

  3. Glad you had a great time at camp!! I can understand being exhausted after all that! I liked the first Divergent movie but then never watched Insurgent. I have seen awful reviews for Allegiant. Sorry it was s bad!! I just requested Undecided after seeing a couple of really good reviews. Can’t wait to see what you think of Suffer Love. I am really excited for that one. You both have such pretty IG pics!! Have a great week ladies!

  4. You’ve had a pretty busy week. I wish I could go get lost in the woods. It would do me some good. Great haul! The Lifeboat Clique is a pretty decent read, so I hope you like it. Lady Midnight was okay as well. I think I would have loved it more if it hadn’t been so dragged out. Enjoy all your books ladies!

  5. Gen, you’ve been SO BUSY!! I think I would sleep for a week after all of that. LOL Gorgeous photos, as always! Looking forward to your thoughts on Undecided since everyone’s saying it’s really good, so I’m anxious to try it. Enjoy your weekend!

Gaby, gorgeous photos as well!! I’m so excited that you read Lola since I LOVE IT!! 🙂 Enjoy your weekend as well!

  6. I reviewed Undecided and My kind of Crazy last week. I really enjoyed Undecided and was meh about Crazy. I also got Last Good Girl this week too. I have heard that Allegiant was, let’s nicely say, less than great. I will wait till it comes to Redbox to check it out. Have a great week!

    • I’m super excited for Undecided. The cover can be so misleading though. I thought it was a love triangle. Thank goodness it isn’t. And with Crazy, I wasn’t wowed but I did enjoy it.
Allegiant was bad. Wait for redbox or Netflix. It was just so bad. Thank you!

  7. I’m glad camp was fun, Gen! Even though it sounds super busy!
Lady Midnight looks so beautiful, and I’m hearing some good things, so I hope you both enjoy it! I still need to catch up on the Mortal Instruments…
Gaby – your insta looks so gorgeous! And your reads are all on my TBR..! Looks like a nice week of reading 🙂

Also… Allegiant? Sorry to hear that! I don’t think I’ll bother with it 🙁

Annika @ Hiding in Books recently posted: the Sunday Post: in which it's Easter break!
    • It was fun! The activities were to have fun but man.. I had so much fun, I’m dead haha
I hope to read LM some time this year since I still need to read CoHF so welcome to the club haha
Yes, Allegiant was bad. Just wait for it to come out.

  8. I love camping! But it is exhausting. Was Alligiant really that bad? I must admit I never actually finished the book series (my friend accidentally told me what happened anyway!) so I never bothered with the films. Happy Easter! Have a great week and happy reading!

    • It really was! It turned out to be more sci-fi than dystopian, which is the genre of the books. Lots of things were changed. The acting wasn’t the greatest. Just many things that made it very unlikable.

  9. Genesis – I used to go to camp, too!! I bet you were glad to get home to a bed and shower 🙂 Sounds like it was worth a week’s worth of recuperation! And awesome books this week, too. I don’t think you’ll regret Pushing the Limits.

Gaby – You reminded me I still need to read Perkins’ books. I WILL someday get to them, I will!!

And you both instagram like superheros!!!

    • This camp has mini houses in cement with toilet, two showers, sink, bunk beds (kind of uncomfortable ones) so I didn’t really miss the shower or anything haha It was fun! But yeah I need more than a week for me recuperation.

    • I wasn’t excited but still went to see it. I had nothing to do and nothing else was at the movies that was worth watching lol Aww you should totally camp with the kids!!

  10. Love seeing the ereaders represented on bookstagram. Sounds like you had a really awesome and busy week, Gen!

I’m currently reading Me Before You, loving it so far. Definitely going to check out Gaby’s review when I finish!

  11. I was livid when I got finished with Allegiant. I just…no. Nope. I decided right then I would never watch that movie. If they change the ending, maybe. But…I’ll need to know that ahead of time!

Looks like you both had some great book hauls and camp sounded like a blast! I hope this week is filled with fun and books, but maybe not as exhausting!. 🙂 Happy reading!

    • I was sad with the ending of the book but it fits Tris. I almost killed the author for that haha but when you think about it, Tris isn’t invincible you know? She should have, you know, like in the second book with everything she did. I’ll be really mad if they change the ending in the movie. I feel like they would change it. If they do, I’ll scream the ending at the movie theater and then give tissues lol

Classes start again this week so I’m not looking forward to that. Hopefully it is not exhausting 🙂

  12. Camp sounds great fun, I wish when I was younger there was things like that here in Scotland!

I have only watched Divergent and I have only read the first two books, to be honest I wasn’t really struck on the film but I love the book. I can’t finish the series as I know how it ends and I just can’t bring myself to read it.

Hope you both have a good week!

    • Ah you live in Scotland! That’s awesome!
Then lower your expectations on Insurgent. I had hopes for it and they weren’t met. I already had low expectations for Allegiant and that went horrible.
      Thank you 🙂

  13. Aw thanks so much for linking to my post, you are too sweet! Also, The Loose Ends List looks SOOOO good. I hope you love it! I am trying to NOT request too much stuff… but I really want to, so if you tell me it’s good I will 😉

I am glad you had a good time at camp!! And sorry that Allegiant was awful- though I kind of had a feeling. Even so, I fully plan to watch it for two reasons: 1) Movie theater popcorn. 2) To properly make fun of it on the internet. 😉 Hope you guys both have great weeks!!

  14. Your camp does sound like a lot of fun, Gen! and sometimes, that really makes it worth feeling like a zombie for a while after 🙂
Your new books all look great, too! I want a copy of Suffer Love so bad! I hope you’ll enjoy it.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading xoxo

  15. Glad to hear that camp was so fun! My husband asked me over the weekend if I wanted to go see Allegiant… I passed. I really might just skip it altogether. It’s horrible what they’re doing to the books series. Ugh.
I’m loving the #AtCSReadalong! I’m glad to see that all the feels are still there the second time around. The end of Addicted To You had me sobbing all over again. LiLo just breaks my heart!

  16. I am glad you had fun at camp. I feel like the catching up on sleep takes so much time too! I am sad to see that you said Allegiant was horrible I wanted to go see it but was away during the weekend. I got Undecided as well this week and can’t wait to read it!

  17. Was this a church camp? I used to go to church camp with my sister when I was in middle school and it was a lot of fun, and yes to the food. OMG, Allegiant looked terrible! I liked the first movie okay, but the rest looked so bad. I love how Alyssa is responsible for so many bloggers reading Undecided 🙂
