GEN’S LIFE HAPPENINGS

  • On Monday, I took a me day and spent the afternoon driving around, drinking coffee, buying calligraphy pen and then visiting my aunt, who gave me a few tips on calligraphy. For Tuesday, my aunt invited me to go to a coffee shop with her and everything that we ordered was so freaking good! I ordered an acai bowl and for the first time ever, I ordered a Double Shot Iced Coffee with Caramel <3 SO DELICIOUS!

  • Thursday, my boyfriend came down with his brother and cousin (who’s visiting from Orlando, FL). When they picked me up the song I heard playing in the car was from HAMILTON! Apparently, they had been listening to it for 2 hours haha We went to eat to our favorite restaurant and had Mofongo with Grilled Chicken Breast and CHEESECAKE FRITO <3 <3 <3 After that, we went to a comedy show and hung out a while.

  • Friday, I went to the beach! I didn’t take pictures because it was POURING!!! So I just left my phone inside the car. Then, we went to a restaurant where I ordered Mofongo and Chicken Breast cooked in Butter. My goodness, that was so good. After, we went to Cafelados and I ordered my fave drink, which is Alexander. Funny fact: we had been listening to Hamilton soundtrack ALL DAY! When the guys asked me the name of the drink, their look was of “You’re obsessed” haha But I’ve been drinking that since before I listened to Hamilton. At night, we went to a friend’s house to drink chocolate and eat cheese and crackers! We had a blast for sure.

GEN’S HAUL

For Review

daring the bad boy the boyfriend bet

Only two books! When was the last time this happened? I don’t even remember haha I’m so excited to be reading these stories. I’ve actually never read anything by Monica Murphy so this will be my first book by her, as well as with Chris Cannon. I’m seriously so happy for both of these books since they sound fun and light and very entertaining which is what I need!

GEN’S WEEK IN READING

When Stars Collide Ebook Cover it ends with us a fine mess all we have left results may vary

I absolutely love When Stars Collide!! It was so much fun to read! It has a best friends to more trope along with brother’s best friend. The author did a great job having these two tropes and with barely any drama surrounding the brother and the couple. Success! Seriously, it was top read of the week along with All We Have Left, which was amazing and so gripping! (Review) I liked It Ends with Us, but it’s not CoHo’s best book. I feel like she’s been going downhill in her work :/ (Review) I also read and enjoyed A Fine Mess! (Review) Lastly, I read Results May Vary, which I highly enjoyed. I wasn’t expecting to like it so much, to be honest, but I was pleasantly surprise. Review to come this week!

GEN’S CURRENTLY READING

  • Yay for food!! It all looks good. I am a fan (like everyone else) of the Hamilton soundtrack. That is funny wit your drink named Alexander!! Looks like you had a great week in reading!! Lovely IG pics as always. Have a great week!

    • Hahaha everything was good. And yes! I got my boyfriend hooked who got his brother and cousin hooked and now it’s all they listen to lol

  • /Lauren Rebecca Hassan

A lot of people got CoHo’s new book this week!! I hope you enjoy these 🙂

  • I need to stop visiting your blog on Saturdays because it only makes me hungry with all the food talk and photos!
Curious to hear your thoughts on the Monica Murphy. I liked a couple of her books but haven’t had the chance to pick any others. I didn’t know she was writing YA!
I’m excited you liked Results May Vary! I’ll have to get a copy when it releases.
Happy reading and have a good week!

  • Your books this week look cute!! Also, I’ve only listened to the soundtrack once, and that was only because I was in the car with someone that is OBSESSED

    • YOU NEED TO KEEP LISTENING! If I got my boyfriend to love it, who doesn’t like that type of music at all, you are closer to liking it than he was. So keep listening!

  • Sounds like a busy week! Lots of books and reviews and Insta photos and food. 😀 You are living the life, lady! I hope you have a wonderful week, Genesis. =)

    • Haha sorry! Well, not sorry. Food is awesome 😀 Yaaaas!! There’s a new video called #HamilKids and that’s how my kids will be in the future lol

  • You always take the best pictures of food. You’re making me hungry! I’m glad that you had a fun time with your boyfriend and his brother, and I’m going to bring it back to the food, it sounds like you had some excellent meals. Have a good week. 🙂

  • The Book Disciple

I totally agree about the CoHo book. I am not sure I will be picking up many of hers in the future. You have the best food pictures!! My food never looks that good! Have a great week!

  • Bibliojunkies

I did like IEWU. Hard to read but it was worth it. I also finished Results May Vary last week and loved it. Have you read her previous book, The One That Got Away? I loved that one, too. Enjoy the rest of your books! Here’s ours: Here’s ours: Bibliojunkies Happy reading! ~ Bel

  • Monica Murphy wrote a YA for Entangled?!?!?! Why don’t I know this?? I need to pay attention to my emails….. Is it good so far? Should I hunt it down? I like Monica, she’s a “local” favorite of mine (I’ve met her at RAGT, a book get together in Cincinnati, Ohio).

Pssst. send some of those food goodies up here to MIchigan, will ya? We have nothing like THAT up here! We have plenty of fried food though 😛 tee, hee

    Have a great week!!!

    • She did hahaha For me, the first half of the book was kind of boring a bit childish. The rest was so darn cute!
You have to come to PR! You will love ALL of the food!

  • It sounds like you had a great week, minus the rain, but all the food sounds amazing!!!

  • So much food and drink, your post has got me wanting to run off to the coffee shop pronto! 🙂

  • Eva

Awesome week of reading! So can I please have cheesecake frito?! That looks amazing and I love acai bowls!

  • Wow, I’m already hungry and this post did not help!
When Stars Collide sounds so good, I need to check it out since you said its low on drama, I agree with you on CoHo’s books declining which is sad… Hope you have another great week!

    • Hahaha I’m sorry!
You know how there’s always books on brother’s best friend and how the brother is always just so pissed off about his best friend being with his baby sister. In this case, yeah he gets mad but he’s mostly hurt that they didn’t go to him to tell him. That’s it. And that’s actually done very early in the book so it’s not the focus for the whole story.
