Weekly Latte Rewind is a weekly feature where we will recap posts, books read, books we received and other bookish stuff. We’ve linked to Stacking the Shelves hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post hosted by  Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

  • My family always gets together on Saturdays at my grandma’s house and then we go out to eat together. At my grandma’s, she gave me a red lipstick that my mom and I tried on for the night. We found a Coquí at my grandma’s and went crazy taking pictures since we always hear them, but rarely see them. When we went out to eat, I had to get an Italian Mofongo (it’s heavenly). My aunt had avocado in her car from my grandma’s so they took advantage of it and sliced it right there in the restaurant lol

  • I went out with a couple of friends to a coffee shop that I’ve been visiting pretty much every day! And later on, I went with my best friend and we had the best cappuccino we’ve ever tasted in our lives.

  • This week, I was feeling very down to the point of crying because I was very emotional and really missing my boyfriend. On Friday night (yesterday), I went to church as I always do. Suddenly, someone is giving me a huge kiss on my cheek and I open my eyes wide in surprise to find my boyfriend! He surprised me by staying this whole weekend in my area so we can be together. Am I lucky to have this guy or am I lucky?

roseblood the-goal to-love-and-to-cherish

I really like Phantom of the Opera a lot! So when I found that Roseblood is a retelling of that, I went crazy and requested it! I was surprised when I got approved and did a happy dance. I got The Goal! I finished reading it at 3AM. I couldn’t stop! Tucker BEGGED to be read *heart eyes* Lastly, I got a pre-approved widget for To Love and to Cherish! I’ll also be getting the physical ARC so I’m waiting to get it so I can start reading.

Madalyn from Novel Ink had mentioned she got this for free on Amazon so I immediately 1-clicked it! I’ve heard great things of Persuasion and I’ve been wanting to give it a shot.

with-malice the replacement crush the-goal

I really enjoyed With Malice. I only had problems with the very abrupt ending. The Replacement Crush was so darn cute! I loved it. The Goal was amazing! Guys, one word: Tucker. That man…that glorious, hot, dirty-mouth, hunk of a man. *swoons and fans face* (I don’t like guys who talk dirty, but Tucker is the exception!)

  1. I have The Replacement Crush on my TBR! I’m so glad to hear you liked it. It sounds so cute! The Goal sounds like something I would really love too. Your bf sounds like a sweetheart, that’s so nice of him to surprise you like that.

  2. I don´t know any of the books you´re showing, but I got very interested in Roseblood by A.G. Howard – guess that goes on my wishlist *smile*. Thanks for sharing all those lovely pictures – you girls are really beautiful. And yes, your BF is a quite handsome man. You are a lucky girl *smile*
Happy reading and have a great weekend.

  3. I love that you have a tradition of having dinner with your Grandma once a week! Your family sounds like so much fun! I am definitely going to look for Roseblood. Have a wonderful week.

    • Aww yes, it’s a great way to see everyone. Plus, my grandma gets lonely. We used to live across the street from her so we would see her every day. When we moved, it took a toll on her so we started going to her house every weekend and it stuck 🙂

  4. Your boyfriend seems awesome, he’s always got surprises up his sleeve! I’m happy that you guys got to spend the weekend together. =) I’ve only read The Deal but I liked it. I haven’t decided if I want to continue with the series (The Deal was SO good, you know?), but I bought books 2 and 3 when they $0.99 so I’m prepared. 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Genesis. 🙂

  5. So many good things. Your boyfriend is very cute firstly… and sounds nice as well, so that’s a good thing!

I love the idea of the family dinners, involving extended family and going out, rather than people having to cook or cater for others.

PS. Did you and your bestie mean to wear matching shirts? 😉

    • Oh he’s fantastic 🙂 <3
If it were for my grandma, she'd cook every weekend. We have to force her out of the kitchen so that doesn't happen. She does make coffee for all of us, though.
We did mean to haha We bought the shirts together a few months ago and have only twin'd once. But we only matched in shirts. This time, we matched in shirts, jeans, white converse and straight hair haha

  6. So nice that your boyfriend showed up to surprise you with his lovely presence! Missing him must be hard, and he must have missed you just as much!
I would love to have a fixed weekly meal with my family 🙂 We do it with my children, of course, but seeing my mom and my sister more often would be heavenly.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

    • It really is hard for both of us so it was a great surprise that he came down. Honestly, we don’t live that far from each other, considering other couples, but he’s been working so now we see each other less.
Maybe you can start a tradition of doing it at least once a month 🙂

      • Sadly, we live too far away from each other, it’s a little more than two and a half hours by plane, so even monthly visits wouldn’t work. Good thing we have the possibility of video-calling now 🙂

  7. Sounds like you had a pretty good week Gen! That food looks super tasty. And how sweet of you boyfriend to come visit you as a surprise! You guys look very good together 😉

I loooooove Phantom of the Opera too!! How awesome that RoseBlood is a retelling! Sounds like a great read!!

    Have a great week! 😉

  8. The Book Disciple

Your boyfriend is a keeper! Glad he was able to come surprise you!
Great book haul! I am excited to dive into the Goal as well! Have a great week!

  9. Laurel-Rain Snow

What a lovely tradition, going out to eat on the weekends with your grandmother.

And your boyfriend’s surprise would definitely make the weekend, I think.

Enjoy your new books…and your week. Here are

  10. Yay for Roseblood!! I think I have a copy coming soon so I haven’t requested on Netgalley but now I’m panicking and thinking I should request just in case! I’m glad you had a good week and your boyfriend seems sweet! Enjoy your new books 😀
