Weekly Latte Rewind is a weekly feature where we will recap posts, books read, books we received and other bookish stuff. We’ve linked to Stacking the Shelves hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post hosted by  Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

  • My boyfriend and I went to the farmers market in town over the weekend. Neither of us have been to one before, it was a new experience and we really loved it. While we were there, we stopped at the beer garden nearby, where people and families were sitting enjoying a drink and playing games.
  • This week was kind of rough, with hurricane Harvey. I wasn’t in the storm, but I was constantly on the phone with my parents, giving me updates about the rain and the flooding. It was so sad seeing everyone from home talk about the flood, and seeing pictures of my hometown under water.
  • School started! I’m so excited with my classes and excited to learn. I like my classes, and knowing that I’m studying for exactly what I am doing for my career!

Killer Choice, Bad Reputation

Recently I’ve wanted to reread the Vampire Academy series. I already had the first book, and then went a little crazy and bought the rest in the series lol.

I had a pretty good reading week! Once I started the Vampire Academy books, I couldn’t stop reading. I forgot how great these books are!

I’m continuing on with the series, and am currently on book four!

  1. Just Another Girl and her Book

I have not read any of these books, but Stalking Jack the Ripper looks really interesting. Have a great weekend.

  2. I’m sorry to hear about your home town. I hope all of your people are safe. On a happier note, yay for books. I love the VA books and I can’t wait to give them a re-read in the near future I feel like they need it.

  3. Laurel-Rain Snow

So sorry about the worry for your family and friends due to Harvey.

Enjoy your books, and I love those Farmer’s Markets. We have them nearby in a mall, and even in the parking lot of the Kaiser Hospital.

  4. I love the farmer’s market! There was one by my university but since I graduated and moved, I haven’t been to one. :/ I hope your family and friends are safe in Houston.

I’ve heard good things about the VA series! My friends have recommended it to me but there’s just no time. Reading all the books is a full-time job. 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a wonderful weekend, Victoria. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  5. I hope your family is OK after Harvey, Victoria! It must be really tough to see pictures of houses you actually know being flooded 🙁
Back to school is a nice energy, and I’m glad you’re happy with your classes.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  6. I’m so sorry to hear about your hometown being effected by Harvey. I hope your family is doing okay. I’ve seen so many scary photos and videos. A town that I lived in when I was in middle school recently had sever flooding and most of the people lost their homes. It was so sad to see the pictures.

I own Stalking the Jack the Ripper but I haven’t gotten to pick it up yet. I think I’m going to try to work it into my schedule in October. I hope you have a great week, and happy reading!

  7. Charlie Anderson

Hurricane Harvey has been devastating. There were tornado watches in my parents’ area, so I was on the phone a lot the first two days. I can’t imagine how I would feel seeing my hometown underwater. I hope your family and everyone is doing well despite the water influx.

  8. I couldn’t image what Texans are going through with the devastation from Harvey.

I’ve only read the first book in the VA series and I’m not sure why I didn’t continue, since I enjoyed the first book. I started Stalking Jack the Ripper but had to put it to the side for another book, hopefully I can get back to it soon.

    Enjoy your week 🙂

  9. I am a VA fan, but I have to admit, I think I liked Bloodlines more. Maybe it’s because Adrian has such a large role in that series. Glad you are enjoying them. So sorry to hear your family and friends are suffering through the hurricane and its aftermath. It breaks my heart. I have family there too, and my cousin was actually activated for the national guard last week. I hope they are able to recover from it all soon.

  10. I’m sorry to hear about your hometown. I hope your family and loved ones are okay! My sister’s in laws are in Spring and they had a lot of flooding but luckily their houses are okay. My thoughts and prayers are your family, Victoria!

You had a good week in reading though, woo hoo! I only read three books and I DNF’d one about half way through the book. Have a great week!

  11. That’s too bad about your hometown. I hope everyone manages fine! Glad you’re alright where you live. And the farmer’s market sounds good! Have a great reading week 🙂
